Policies, Shipping, and Returns

Revised 04/27/07

Shipping

Shipping & handling is FREE on all orders. Expedited shipping can be requested at additional cost. Please notify me if you need expedited service before placing an order.

All currency values listed on this website are US dollars. At this time I only ship orders placed on my website to the continental United States. If you live elsewhere please contact me and I will give you a quote on how much it will cost to ship to your location. I am also able to accept foreign currency (in USD equivalent). In this situation I will send you a PayPal invoice via email. As such, I will need you to send me your contact information, shipping address, the photo number and name of the print(s) you wish to purchase along with the print size.

Items typically ship within 1-3 business days upon receipt of payment. Please allow an additional 3-5 business days for shipping (in the continental US). If your order doesn't arrive within this time please contact me. Some orders, such as large prints and panoramas, may take longer to arrive due to the added time involved in creating larger prints.

Payment

This website is setup to process orders via PayPal. I also accept checks sent through the mail. If you prefer to pay by check please email me with the following information: photo number, name, and print size. Once the request is received, a reply will be emailed to you listing the cost of each item as well as the final cost of the order. The mailing address to use for sending the check will also be included. I ship the order once the check clears.

Quality

I use a professional printing lab to produce my prints on Kodak Professional Endura papers. Color images are printed on glossy paper and black & white, or monotone, images are printed on metallic paper. Metallic prints cost about 20% more to produce than glossy (although I do not charge extra for images printed on this type of paper). The extra cost is worth it on black & white images because it creates an almost three-dimensional look and also has a metallic/pearlescent look to it. Although some like this paper for all prints, I think that its color is not as accurate and thus the reason why I only use it on black & white, or monotone, images.

All prints are made with archival paper and printing mediums that should last up to 100 years for typical home display and 200 years for dark home storage*. Each and every print made is personally inspected by myself to ensure that the print is free from defects and that the sharpness and color of the print is exceptional.

Prints and Signatures

All prints are open editions and hand-signed by myself. Images are printed onto paper that is slightly larger than the printed image. In other words there is a white border, or margin, around the print. Regardless of size or orientation, the bottom border is 1.5 inches and the top, left, and right borders are 0.5 inch. The reason for the larger border at the bottom is to allow room for my signature. There are additional benefits to the border as well. It helps protect the printed image from damage. When getting the print matted and framed, the signature, as well as the white border, can be either covered by the matte to hide it or have the matte cut to show the signature along with a thin white border around the print. The border also allows prints to maintain the full aspect ratio of the final processed image. Paper sizes such as 8x10 or 11x14, and others, require that images with a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio to be cropped to fit. No cropping occurs with my prints.

Since my photographs are printed on Kodak Professional Endura glossy and metallic papers, signing with pencils in not possible. Instead I use archival (acid-free) pens that are both fade and water resistant and will not smear. I sign my signature along with the date in the bottom right-hand border.
